          In this recent article by the Exchange Team at Microsoft, new vulnerabilities have been discovered that affect Exchange Servers on-premise. This might impact many customers operating with Exchange completely on-premise or hybrid-mode with Exchange Servers on-premise and a connection to Office 365.  (Office 365 covering Exchange Online is not affected)

          Two patches protect against this attack (the May 2021 security update and the July 2021 security update). But it's important to point out several ways that you might be vulnerable. If any of these are true, find out about patching as soon as possible:

          • The server is running an older, unsupported CU (Cumulative Update);
          • The server is running security updates for older, unsupported versions of Exchange that were released in March 2021; or
          • The server is running an older, unsupported CU, with the March 2021 EOMT mitigations applied.
